Hey there, Sparklers 🙂
I’m not really sure what to make of this, so I thought I’d share it with you to see what your opinions are.
I have a cupboard in my bedroom that’s built into the wall. I’ve always found it slightly creepy for as long as I can remember, and I can only sleep at night if it’s completely closed. When I was younger, my foster sister had a doll named George, and when she moved to London, she left George in our flat. He scared me so much that I kept him in the cupboard and never brought him out. I was positive he was possessed or something.
We finally got rid of the doll, but the freaky feeling didn’t go away. If the cupboard wasn’t closed properly, I’d lay there all night staring at it, expecting something to come out and get me. I couldn’t get out of bed to close it, it was like I was paralysed.
Fast forward to the early hours of this morning, about 2am, I was in bed watching YouTube videos. I came across an Urban Legends story about black eyed children. When I find things like this, I just HAVE to watch them. Curiosity takes over and I have to see what it’s all about and whether it’s obviously fake or whether there’s a possibility it could be real.
It definitely wasn’t the smartest idea to watch that in bed at 2am, and it left me feeling freaked out and slightly paranoid. When I watch scary things on my own at night, my mind goes into overdrive and I’m constantly expecting something to jump out at me.
So I lay there in silence, my eyes darting around the room, and the cupboard doors start to open on their own. No draft, and the doors are actually stiff, they require a good old tug to open them. My worst nightmare was starting to come true. It looked as if someone had given them a good push from the inside to unstick them, and as it was pitch black inside, I couldn’t actually see anything. But I could sense something. I sensed something that wasn’t supposed to be there, something dark and menacing.
I jumped out of bed, grabbed my daughter and ran into the front room. Neither of us were sleeping in that room. I put Alexa on one sofa, and I slept on the other. I had Christmas movies playing in the background as well as a fire crackling, just to ease my nerves so I could drift off.
One lesson I’ve learned is: NEVER watch something scary on your own in the middle of the night. It seriously messes with your head and you can no longer tell what’s real and what’s not.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and I’d love to hear your opinions on this experience!
See you soon 🙂
Lots of love,
